Welcome to the Central Valley Wrestling Association Website. On behalf of CVWA, we are glad that
you are visiting our site. The CVWA would like to welcome Bruce "Doc" Lippmann as the new association director,
and thank the former director, Rick McKinney, for all of his dilligent work in reestablishing the CVWA as a strong, thriving
association. . Some things to keep in mind for this season; - USA card registration must take place "on-line" or it will be $40.00 at the tournament site.
- All coaches must register on line and pay for their Background check.

to think about & formalize any changes you would like to see implemented for next year.
I took over the reins
of CVWA in November 2008, at the urging of former Director, Rick McKinney. Our goal is to unify the clubs within our organization
and continue to build upon the tradition of wrestling excellence in the Central San Joaquin Valley. Our Association Directors include: Debbie Magnusson – Pairers Chairperson Cleo Johnson
Lane – Officials Chairperson Sal Gonzalez – Membership Chairperson Chauncey Coleman – Vice President/Treasurer Dr.

This year, we implemented advanced registration for CVWA tournaments using Trackwrestling.com. This addition has helped with
registration and weigh-ins. We hope that you utilize this system. Having our tournaments computerized has helped as well!
The Association purchased several laptop computers and printers to assist in running the tournaments. We are hoping to make
things more efficient.
I have been involved in wrestling since 1962, first wrestling in 7th grade. I wrestled all through high school
on the east coast, and then again in my senior year in college as a “walk-on” at the University of Maryland (1971-72).
I thought I was done with the sport, but found myself entering intramural contests in both the military and graduate school.
In 1979, I moved to California but didn’t return to the sport until 1997 when I was asked to coach the high school team
in Woodlake. In 1999, I began teaching and coaching at McLane High where I continue to teach and coach today. I spent eight
years as McLane’s Head Coach and, I still stay connected with the team as an assistant coach and tournament director
(McLane Girls Fall Brawl, Doc Lippmann Dual Rotational, FUSD Elementary School Championships, NYL Wrestling Championships
and various freestyle tournaments).
Obviously, wrestling is in my blood! I appreciate the opportunity to serve wrestling in our area. Let me know if you have
